This is the thread for general Rugby League news that doesn't warrant a thread such as the below.

@FOXSportsNews Reports emerging that St George Illawara's Kyle #Stanley will miss 2013 season due to another #ACL injury

Good idea GD , it's a story but not a whole thread worthy one.

Good luck to Stanley with his recovery .
There are players that are just too injury prone , Brett Papworth comes to mind

Doesn't look as bad on a mannequin

Thing is I don't think a lot of Broncos supporters will have that upper shape.

On the positive side at least that **** green NRL logo will suit our jersey. More then I can say for the Broncos.

Dammit that's a mannequin? I thought someone had finally taken Sam Thaiday's head off!

Purtell to return to rugby league

Bradford's Australian centre Adrian Purtell has been given the all-clear to resume his rugby league career after suffering a heart attack in May.

The 27-year-old centre collapsed in the aftermath of Bradford's defeat by Leeds at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on May 27.

Purtell was told by a London specialist this week that he can start full training and resume playing in early March.

"I felt myself that I'd be okay because I have been doing some training and felt good, but I am not a medical person so it was pretty awesome to get that news from such an eminent specialist," Purtell said.

"Last year was a tough one for the Bulls but the boys all bonded together and stuck by me and the club has been absolutely tremendous throughout."

Purtell, formerly with Canberra and Penrith, is 12 months into a three-year contract with the Bulls and was told in early September that his heart had repaired itself well.

Bradford coach Francis Cummins said: "It's great for us because we have got one of our star players back but, for Adrian, it's an amazing piece of news because we weren't even sure whether he would be able to live a normal life, let alone play again.

"It's almost like having a new player with us and, although he can't do everything yet, he will be able to start his pre-season now."

Before today I didn't think you could get a worse design than what the Wests Tigers usually come up with...

Ex missus wasn't it? Which makes it a dog act.. Well both would, but your ex is just all spite..
Avatar Bet - bleedgreen99 - Raiders to make (BG99)/miss(Lucy) the 8. Avatar from last round of regular season 2015 until GF 2016.
Signature Bet - Raider85 - Raiders to get(Lucy)/miss(R85) the wooden spoon. Signature for entire offseason.
Bottle of something to the value of $70 - Matthew Borewood to not see (Lucy)/to see (Piggles) a first grade game in 2015 for the Warriors.
The Name Change Bet - Regarding the three bets above;
I win all three I keep my name.
I win one I become "the Punish"
I lose all I become "Chicken Little"

Not the smartest thing ever done, but who knows what she did to him? It goes both ways, but the bloke always ends up getting labelled as the dog.
