Sam Kasiano is fighting fit ahead of 2017 season

NRL defences can breathe a sight of relief. Sam Kasiano, once a 130kg wrecking ball labelled “Dogzilla”, looks barely recognisable this summer. The Bulldogs forward has undergone a sensational weight loss.

The Canterbury forward’s new look is down to hard work on the training paddock in pre-season, as well as showing more discipline in his diet.

Canterbury Bulldogs Josh Jackson says turmoil of 2016 driving club in 2017

NSW representative and Bulldogs back-rower Josh Jackson thinks the turmoil of last season is driving Canterbury this pre-season.

"When we first started back, everyone was pretty keen because we all were pretty disappointed with the way – particularly the last six weeks of the season last year – went. We weren't playing to our potential and we weren't playing how we thought we should be, and it didn't end well for us. So everyone was definitely keen to get back into it, for sure."

Canterbury Bulldogs James Graham sets record straight on captaincy, Manly speculation

GIVING up the Bulldogs captaincy. A defection to Manly. The Dogs have gone to the dogs. James Graham has heard it all over the long, hot summer months since Canterbury’s unceremonious exit from the 2016 finals and the extraordinary fall out that followed.

"I want to lead this team. I’m very proud to be the Bulldogs captain," Graham says. "I’m very proud to be the captain under Des Hasler and I want to be at the forefront of getting this team, this current crop of Canterbury players into a winning culture.

They'd probably benefit from a dual captaincy. I can see people wanting to follow Graham but they need someone that has the temperament to talk to the refs.

Josh Reynolds starts contract talks with Canterbury Bulldogs, hunts Origin redemption

AS Josh Reynolds kicks off contract talks with Canterbury, the combative five-eighth has declared his desperation to stay in both blue and white and reclaim a sky blue NSW Origin jumper.

"Yeah, we’ve started talking. Obviously I want to know what’s going on, but I let (Bulldogs CEO) Raelene Castle, Des (Hasler) and my manager sort out all that stuff. It’s a cliche answer, but I just want to keep doing what I’m doing, keep playing good footy — that’s been my motto from the word go.

Dunno. Not a great deal of depth there and the spine isn't great. If the forwards don't dominate they could struggle.

The 20-year-old Canterbury Bulldogs player on teammates’ lips — Marcelo Montoya

CANTERBURY fans might want to get themselves familiar with the name Marcelo Montoya — if the hype is accurate, you could be watching him line up in round one.

The 20-year-old back is the name on teammates’ lips and many are tipping him to steal a spot in the starting 17 come March 3. Last year Montoya scored 19 tries in 18 NYC games, and captained the under 20s side.

Greg Inglis reveals representative future, 2017 position for South Sydney Rabbitohs

VETERAN Test star Greg Inglis has revealed he has no plans to follow Johnathan Thurston into retirement from representative football. "I want to play rep footy as long as I’m around, as long as I’m still playing footy," he said.

And despite suggestions he shift from fullback at the Rabbitohs, he's having none of it. "I want to be a fullback. I told Madge (coach Michael Maguire) towards the end of last year I want to be fullback for as long as I can."

Canterbury Bulldogs Josh Reynolds vows to be fine-free in 2017

He was cited three times in the space of two years for tripping offences but Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds has declared that his wallet "will remain in my pocket" following changes to the judiciary system announced by the NRL on Thursday.

Canterbury Bulldogs crumbled under pressure, concedes skipper James Graham

Canterbury captain James Graham has made the stark admission the renowned September specialists may have crumbled under the pressure of expectation during their meek finish to last season.

"Maybe it was the pressure that got to us, what was at stake," Graham said. "With our players – and let's be honest, players that had been there before and managed to kick onto a top-four finish – sometimes, maybe it's just sport.

Mbye is a ball runner, paired with Reynolds who is another ball runner.

Josh Graham is their best ball player.

I said at the end of last year the Dogs won't get close to a premiership unless they get a playmaker in their side.

No different this year. Hopoate, Mbye, Reynolds and Lichaa is a terribly unbalanced spine.

Brett Morris out to repay Canterbury Bulldogs after nightmare season

Brett Morris knows this wasn't the way the story was meant to go. Signed to the Bulldogs as a representative player on a long-term deal to wear the No.1 jersey, things haven't gone to script for one of the most prolific try-scorers of the modern era.

"I came over here to win a competition and try and help out on the field, but I've spent half the time off it," Morris said.

Canterbury Bulldogs coach Des Hasler's re-signing can’t be announced because they haven’t won a game

CANTERBURY is set to announce coach Des Hasler has re-signed with the club on a new two-year deal, but have been delayed by the team’s miserable start to the 2017 NRL season. Despite a boardroom battle which saw club great Steve Mortimer resign after demanding Hasler’s head, the genius coach has survived the cut and will remain at Belmore until the end of the 2019 season, according to a report.

The dogs are a sneaky hot mess that no one seems to want to talk about

The roosters are simply ruthless, they are stable where it matters. Not worried about them at all
