NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Sea Eagles

After an encounter that took its toll against the Sydney Roosters last weekend the Canberra Raiders NYC side will head into the game with a new halves combination with captain Lachlan Croker though injury for their clash against the Sea Eagles in Gosford on Sunday. Adam Lucas who is replacing Croker at halfback admitted these are big shoes to fill.

“Those halves have been there all season and a lot feeds on them and they have lots of experience in that position.” Lucas said.

“We want to be more aggressive than they are and turn up ready to play and make them crack first.”

Mounties Speechley to make his debut for the Raiders in Holden Cup

Mounties is very happy to announce the selection of Brad Speechley to make his debut for the Canberra Raiders in the NYC Holden Cup on Sunday v Manly at Central Coast Stadium.
Brad has been playing for Mounties since he was four years of age and has led our C Grade team to the last two Grand Finals of their competition. In the 2014 season Brad steered Mounties C Grade into the Grand Final before stepping up into the Sydney Shield team where he guided them through the finals series and into the Grand Final at Allianz Stadium.

Brad has the honour of being the first Mounties junior to pull on the Raiders jersey and play in a competition match and epitomizes the true pathway to the NRL that is available to Mounties juniors who are in our system.

Well done Brad and good luck.

Any relation to Michael?
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Brenko should be chucked into the 2nd row for a bit. Get him doing some of the dirty work to tackle him into shape.

14th min TRY SEA EAGLES to Jesse Maxwell. It is an absolutely disgraceful refereeing decision, a bomb hits a Sea Eagles player, goes forward to Maxwell who picks it up and runs away and scores under the posts. Converted.

The referee is cruelling the Raiders' chances, it's a very poor performance from him.

29th min TRY RAIDERS to Adam Lucas, from dummy half, near the posts. Honestly, the referee is whistle happy, but the Raiders finally benefitted from it. Jack Hickson converts.

The eye could be decieving but we seem to have had a small under 20s side for a while now. Maybe its a tactic to help development?
