Hmmm 88 points scored in 80 minutes of footy. Very happy for the win, but it doesn't seem like good defensive habits are being nurtured in the youngsters.

I'd take that result in firsts.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

MATCH REPORT: Holden Cup Canberra Raiders trump top of the table Broncos

In a high scoring affair, the Canberra Raiders have defeated the top of the table Brisbane Broncos 48-40 at Canberra Stadium, after being down by two points at half-time.

The Broncos had only been defeated twice in 2015 and the victory by the 8th placed Raiders provides the side with a great deal of confidence leading into a tough away trip against the Newcastle Knights next weekend.

Boosted by the late return of Lachlan Croker the Raiders started the game strongly getting out to an 18-0 lead within ten minutes however some ill-discipline towards the end of the first half hurt the Green Machine and the Broncos were able to get back into the game.

Man of the Match: Tevita Pangai Junior

Canberra Raiders 48 (Cronan 2, Lee 2, Lewis 2, Hickson, Pengai Junior, Tries; Woolford 4/4 Croker 3/4 Goals) defeated Brisbane Broncos 40

Well done, boys. Any win against the competition leader is a good win.

Brenko & TPJ should be in first grade next week. They've done as much as they can here.
