NYC Match Preview: Raiders v Sharks

The Canberra Raiders Holden Cup side will be looking to record their third win in a row when they come up against the Cronulla Sharks on Saturday morning at Canberra Stadium.

The Green Machine has climbed to 4th place on the ladder in recent weeks after impressive wins over the New Zealand Warriors and the Newcastle Knights.

“It will be a tough game for us even though they are below us on the ladder,” captain Luke Bateman said. “They are a quick team and they bring a lot of intensity into the game. They will come at us fast and they have some really quick outside backs so I imagine they will be spreading the ball early and looking to beat us around the edge.

2nd min TRY RAIDERS to Tre Williams on debut! The Sharks made an early error and the Raiders forced back to back sets. What a start! Zac Woolford converts.

6th min TRY RAIDERS to Thomas Cronan! The Sharks kick off goes dead on the full... and Canberra force another back to back set, with a chip ahead touched and re gathered by Canberra. Woolford misses the goal from the sideline.

Gee that Tre Williams is a likely customer. He's got that natural confidence to back himself and seems to have the skills to match. What worries me most though is this on his Raiders profile;

Favourite Raiders of All-Time: Anthony Milford
Head to Head
Luke Turner - 1
Blake Ferguson - 0

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
