Can we have a big GH think tank on how to stop the radicalisation of islamophobia?

Just reading the paper ..... and I'd say that is precisely what is happening right now.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Reading Vice news article on the attack and **** it's disgusting just how many are justifying it and hoping it happens more, paraphrasing the politician who said terrorism is part and parcel of living in the city and how we've got to get used to it, now it's turned into this type of attack is part and parcel of living in London and Muslims have to get used to it, the amount of hate is disturbing :nooo

More cheap attempts at point scoring mate?

You're intelligent to understand you can hate an idea but not the people.

Saudi Arabia has 'clear link' to UK extremism, report says

Wow a report saying what everyone has known for years and oil hungry governments are bound to ignore.

There is no claim made in that article against the government of Saudi Arabia.

Think TR should spend less time trying to convince us he doesn't have links to terrorism (yeah right) and more time picking balls out of his net

As TR says the article doesn't actually say the "government".

Stuff that I want to know if he has a cell in Rocky, two bomb threats in two weeks at Stocklands shopping centre, and Nickman supposedly out of the country.

I have a business two streets over, in Carrer Pau Claris. All staff OK.

Feels close to home :(

I wonder if there is a diminishing return on this stuff for the terrorists? First time they tried this in Nice, it was in the media for weeks. I wonder how quickly this one drops off the front page?

Interesting. I was aware of the ETA and the attacks perpetrated by Basque separatists but I wasn't aware the numbers were so high.

It just goes to show how much the media influences people's perceptions of the world around them. And how manipulative the whole 24 hour, agenda driven news cycle has become.

Spot on. We're led to believe that terrorism is this very real and new threat, when it's been effectively around in some form or another forever.

To put it in further context, more people die in America each year from mass shootings than from terrorism in Europe since the turn of the century!

Are we supposed to feel better that, despite deaths from terrorist incidents significantly increasing... that they're lower than the 1970s? Or that more people die from mass shootings in the USA? None of that makes me feel the slightest bit better. It doesn't excuse any of it. It's all disgraceful!
