Mine does, and it's three years old. I'd wager you blokes' licenses are later than that??

Appears looking at coworkers, 2016 has gender, 2017 no gender on license

It’s kinda obsolete anyway. Gender doesn’t have to show on licence but it’s still recorded somewhere, along with any other personal details. The licence no. is just used to access the wider data set. Photo of the licence holder is sufficient to ID the person using it.

**** if I know. TPG's "super fast" internet, which seems pretty bloody quick now!

As an indicator, an episode of Game of Thrones now takes about 8 mins to download, as opposed to about 50min with Telstra Bigpond before I switched over.

Legal download I assume ;)

Apparently gender has not been on QLD licenses since October 2016. Weird that it’s being reported as new news

It sounds good in theory, but they have Bears. I don’t mind Aus, because I can stay out of the water if I don’t want to worry about Sharks, but Bears are essentially land Sharks.

I remember reading a story about a cyclist who was riding along a road when a bear knocked him off his bike. The rider legged it and got away. Later that evening, he went back to get his bike and the bear was waiting for him and got him.

He knew he would come back for the bike. **** that

I don’t really care what day we have it as long as we get a public holiday.

I can understand the indigenous feelings behind it as it wasn’t a pretty time in our history and not a time we should be proud of, if we keep the date it should be a more somber holiday where we remember the crimes committed. To make matters worse it also seems to have become a redneck bogans day, southern cross tattooed, flags worn as capes, no respect loud mouthed yobbos, “patriots” that most Australians would be embarrassed to call Australians.

Maybe it’s just I’m sick of over the top “patriotism” but Australia Day does nothing for me.

I much prefer the cold. You can dress to handle the cold. I have to say going back to the hotel one January night after an evening in a warm restaurant in Ottawa was tough on the breathing though!

I think it will change reasonably soon. When you're on the same side as Pauline Hanson and the Neo-Nazis, there's a pretty good chance you're backing a loser.

It should be the last Wednesday in April. Most years it’ll result in a double header with ANZAC Day.

Then, when the timing is right, it’ll coincide with ANZAC Day, Good Friday and Easter Monday and that would be glorious

Alternatively, there’s no date more Aussie than 08/05. May 8... May8... Ma8... M8... Mate

I'm just intrigued that the Greens have clearly given up on presenting themselves as in any way fit to govern, and have retreated back to their traditional basis of pointless sniping over fringe 'social justice' issues.

If they really want to hang their hat on an issue like this, then good for 'em. I'm sure one of two inner city seats will have enough people who care about these things to swing a couple of percentage points their way. The rest of the country will once again dismiss them as a pack of unwashed hippie losers, of course.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I honestly couldn’t care less when Australia Day is as long is it’s not on an existing public holiday. I heard suggestions to make it January 1st and I’m like no thanks that’s already New Year’s Day public holiday just move it to the next available free day if it has to be moved at all.

If Australia Day was to be moved (and i'm neither here nor there on the issue), then move it to Mid to Late Feb, last monday/friday of feb. Its still hot so you can enjoy a nice summers day, its between the Xmas Break and Easter, and you'd get evenly spaced out public holidays (NSW at least, not sure when the other states are...)

Xmas/New Years Day - End of Dec - Start of Jan
Australia Day - End of Feb
Easter - End of March/Early April
Anzac Day - End of April
Queens Birthday - June
Labour Day - Oct

Beautifully spaced out i reckon...
I found a moon rock in my nose....

The only other day worth celebrating as Australia Day is when the Commonwealth of Australia was created... 1 January. It has to mean something.

No it doesn’t. It barely means anything now. Moving it to Jan 1st just takes away a public holiday which is all it is anyway.

Yep and I've seen people suggest January 2nd, which absolutely SUCKS too! We don't need MORE holidays in that Christmas/New Year period.

It should be first Friday of July... yes, that'll do nicely.

I've always been of the opinion that its very easy for individuals to impose their will on others by highlighting problems / issues then amplify them into something that they are quite simply not.

Whilst I am not ignorant to the many real issues that plague today's society, it always astonishes me that when these individuals are pushed for answers, they don't have any.

If you don't have an answer, I'd suggest that the issue you are agitating about may not be as important as your actions may suggest.

Find a solution and make it happen, otherwise move on to issues that can be resolved.

Constant bickering and the to and fro about a sunject that no-one has an answer to is just a waste of time, energy and resources...and I'm my opinion a good ol' Ricky Stuart style smokescreen or classic aussie ****.

There are far mere important things for the leaders of this country to be focussing energies on, and its about time they got on and did it.
To all the people with telekinetic powers...please raise my hand.
