Great signing. I love Bennie Logan, one of the best run stuffing NTs in the league

Salary cap
We've got Fletcher Cox on a huge deal
Vinny Curry and Brandon Graham on very healthy contracts
That's a lot of cap capital going to the DL.

Ideally they'd have liked to keep him but they don't have the cap room to do it this year

Yeah he's the sort of guy that as a coach I'd end up talking myself into all the time
Incredible talent. Apparently can't absorb a playbook and is lazy Monday - Saturday

He's still a top shelf returner, so he'll contribute that way

That's his problem.
BUT, special teams & 'go' routes are his bread and butter. 4th receiver seems his spot, which is sad coz he should be a #2.

Claiborne deal looks pretty good
He played a lot better last year.

That Dallas D has taken some serious hits. Carr, Claiborne, Wilcox, McClain,Church, Crawford all gone and Gregory suspended

None of those guys are superstars but it's a lot of competent NFL players who had a lot of snaps. Dallas better nail this draft otherwise that D threatens to derail their SB hopes

No way we do what we did last yr now. Those 4 DBs are 4 out of 5 starting DBs. I think Church is the biggest loss, as he is the most experienced, our 2nd best tackler behind Lee, and was a club captain. TBH, I think we needed to keep 1 of the 2 CBs too. Nolan only fills 1 spot, and while Brown was pretty handy in his rookie yr, I don't think he can be a #2 CB. He is a 3 or 4 at best. Scandrick was a step behind all yr coming back from his ACL reconstruction too. So that's a worry.

Gregory would start if he wasnt a drug smoking moron, and could well be really good by now too - what waste of talent! At least it was the 'bad' Crawford, but McClain looked better than useful in the D line rotation.

No Doug Free or Leary either, so unless Moore and ...ummm... that other guy from Cards, can fill Frees role, our O Line will be down a player too. It does mean La'll Collins will start at guard though for Leary.

Im not sure who is left in free agency, but I really hope they have a high-ish profile DB on the list that we are actually chasing.

The other problem you've got at corner is that Nolan Carroll kind of sucks

Down to down you can get by because he has enough athleticism to stick most plays but if teams really want to go after him he's going to give up plays

Certainly I expect the eagles to attack him with Smith and Jeffery when they play

He's an ideal #3-4 corner. Shouldn't start for a contender

Oh... and a couple of Safteys. Jones is good, but I dont rate Heath or Frazier.

Yeah i dont know about Jones. He's a good player but a dude like that... is he a safety, is he a corner? Depends on the scheme and who you've got. Not the sort of guy you build a secondary around.

They'll be in the corner market early and often. I wont be shocked to see them go Sidney Jones a round earlier than he should go after the achillies. They did it with Jaylon Smith last year, results of that still very much up in the air. Jones is not as big a risk, Jones is probably 50/50 to ever play again and if he gets back, highly unlikely to be the player he could have been, where as there is no reason to think Jones cant come back from his achillies.

Jones shutdown TE's most of last yr. Not as good on the outside, but very effective on the inside. Has good length and reach. I agree, he is a safety. I think that's where he will play this yr, esp with our 2ndary shot to bits.

We MUST get a DB in the 1st round. Probably in the 2nd too now. Unless we can find something in free agency, but they look to be gone.

@Pigman,

Jernigan an Eagle... DAMN! That front just got scarier. U guys are going to be good this yr.

Romo retires. Passer rating of 97.1. Just behind Brady 97.2, both behind Rogers 104.1.

Aaron Hernandez was found in his cell today dead, hung himself using his bed sheets
Jesus
What a life.

A guy who had his upbringing and his talent... 99/100 he has a long successful HOF career... his ends in a life sentence, a lucky acquittal for another double murder and suicide.

He had it all in front of him, money, fame, HOF career, and this is how it ends. BB nailed it, tragic on every front and most of all for the victims of his crimes.

Just having a quick read of the backstory. He killed Lloyd over a bag of pot?

What is with Hernandez' upbringing? Sounds like a try hard gangster?

I mean there is likely a lot more to it then a bag of pot, but yeah that appears to be the final straw

Hernandez came from a perfectly middle class family who lived in a middle class suburb
This is not some tough kid who survived the ghettos and narrowly avoided gang culture

He chased that lifestyle himself

Did a mock draft today and this is how i think this is how it will all shake out... and by that i mean there will be a trade in the top 10 and the entire mock will be broken an hour into coverage, or SF will just take Allen/Thomas and break it at pick two! But this is what i came up with

1 Cleveland - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M
Clearly the best player in the draft. He tested off the charts, his physical traits suggest he's a cant miss 13+ sack a year player

2 San Francisco - Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
They've taken a lot of defensive line talent early in recent years and I don’t think they'll invest another there right now, they'll take the best cover corner in the draft. Concerns about his injuries are real though

3 Chicago - Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State
The Bears biggest issue is defence in the back end. They can can get a great player, that fills a need and matches value here with Hooker. One of the safer players in this draft in my opinion

4 Jacksonville - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
A violent runner who is NFL ready to run between the tackles. Chris Ivory didn’t pan out for them, and TY Yeldon is a bust. With issues with Bortles, they'll eye the Elliott-Cowboys model of play this year and ride Fournette

5 Tennessee - Jamal Adams, S, LSU
They need back end play makers and that's exactly what Adams is. They also need a couple of CBS and a pass catcher but they'll address those later

6 New York Jets - O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
With the best corner gone and the two safeties out, the Jets take OJ Howard who is the best TE to come out in years. TE's usually take a year to make an impact and that'll suit the Jets fine as they still search for their franchise QB

7 Los Angeles Chargers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
The Chargers are over the moon to find Thomas fall to them and now they can continue to build a defensive bully and pair Bosa with Thomas on the other side

8 Carolina - Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama
Another team who can't believe their luck, Carolina want to get back to being a dominant defensive team, and tough in the trenches, Lotulelei is off contract at the end of the year and they have a 37! Year old Julius Peppers penciled in the start at DE. Allen help in both spots short and long term

9 Cincinnati - Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
The Bengals have to find a upgrade on Burfict who has produced at times but has absolutely cost them big games as a WLB. Kevin Minter is currently their MLB, and Flowers as SLB. Foster could play any of those 3 spots and upgrade it significantly

10 Buffalo - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
Watkins cant stay healthy and even if he could, they still need to give this team a physical red zone reciever. Mike Williams is a great fit for Tyrod's style

11 New Orleans - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
The Saints need to address their defence and that starts with pass rushers. They can pair up Charlton with Jordan and start getting after it on D

12 Cleveland - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
Unless they can swing a trade for Jimmy G, I think they have no other option but to keep swinging away at QB. They like Trubisky and reports are they are considering him with #1 over all, so getting him here at #12 is a no brainer

13 Arizona - John Ross, WR, Washington
I really thought hard about Mahomes here given Palmer's age, but they've lost Floyd and Fitz is going to retire at the end of 2017. They need a replacement for him and someone who can help them make one last SB run

14 Philadelphia - Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
To say the Eagles have problems at CB would be an understatement. If Conley is available, they should SPRINT to the podium to get him. And then probably double down and take another CB in round 2

15 Indianapolis - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
The man broke Reggie White's sack record in college, he's a technician as an end and would give the Colts a much needed defensive boost

16 Baltimore - Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA
Impossible to pick the Ravens most years as they are truly a BPA team, they'd take QB if that was the top player on their board. In this case I think it's McKinley, who they'll have high grades on based on how well he'd fit their scheme

17 Washington - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
Large Rob ain't getting it done for a team like this. They need to be able to run the ball and they need their RB to be a good pass catcher, Cook fits the value and need for this skins team, and gives Cousins a much needed weapon to check down too

18 Tennessee - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
They need to give Mariota a pass catcher. Considered Njoku here but I think Corey Davis has tremendous upside. They might consider corner here but it's so deep they can come back early in Round 2 and get a starter

19 Tampa Bay - Christian McCaffery, RB, Stanford
No idea what's happening with Doug Martin but I think they'd like to move on from him, with that in mind they get McCaffery who can help out in spot duty as a between the tackles runner, exceptional 3rd down back, and a return specialist

20 Denver - Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
Very tough Offensive Tackle and the best in a bad draft. The Broncos need to get better on the line and start running the football with more conistency. Ramczyk will help that as he's mauler as a run blocker.

21 Detroit - David Njoku, TE, Miami
The guy running the Lions now comes from the Patriots tree, and I think the idea of pairing a two very athletic pass catchers in this Jim Bob Cotter offence and give Stafford match up nightmares all over the field. He's a Jimmy Graham type

22 Miami - Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
An excellent Guard prospect who is a day 1 starter and potential All Pro. I think the Dolphins they'd love to pair him with Tunsil and Pouncey and really lock down the OL

23 New York Giants - Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
The Giants OL is holding them back badly. I don’t think this really addresses their issues because Robinson has huge bust potential, but athletically there aren't many who can move like him. They take a flier on him and hope it works

24 Oakland - Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
High motor, fast LB who can make plays in space and in the back field. Think he probably plays WLB but if he adds a bit of size, could easily play MLB. Both positions of need for the Raiders

25 Houston - DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson
They somehow got out from under that Osweiler boondoggle and now need a QB, Romo didn’t pan out so this is down to Watson or Mahomes. I think the Texans feel they are in a SB windwo so take the more pro ready QB.

26 Seattle - Kevin King, CB, Washington
He's a long, rangey corner who can play in zone schemes. Perfect Seattle CB. They had issues at Corner opposite Sherman last year and there is even talk they'll trade Sherman before the start of the year. This is a perfect fit

27 Kansas City - Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
Alex Smith can't seem to get over the hump and the Chiefs will want to groom his replacment. Mahomes is often compared to Brett Farve and Andy Reid rose to fame as a QB guru working with the HOF gunslinger. Reid will LOVE Mahomes.

28 Dallas - Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU
They have lost virtually everyone out of their secondary this off season and need to devote a lot of resources to it. They take the top corner available, and for me that's White.

29 Green Bay - Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
I don't know where they'd play him, maybe at OLB, maybe at Safetey, but he just makes plays and this packers teams needs someone who just finds his way to be around the ball.

30 Pittsburgh - DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
Big Ben spent the off season doing a Farvian fake retirement that no one was buying, however it does bring into focus that Big Ben is 35 years old and unlikely to be a Tom Brady type playing well nearing 40. His time is coming in the next 2 years. Kizer needs about 2 years to be ready. This could be a seamless transition

31 Atlanta - Charles Harris, OLB, Missouri
The Falcons lost the SB in dramatic fashion in large part because their D stopped getting to Brady. They need pass rush help, it's their biggest flaw in a young athletic D. Harris will give them someone to help Vic Beasley out and give Dan Quinn another rusher

32 New Orleans - Marlon Humprey, CB, Alabama
The Saints got a pass rusher earlier in round 1 and now come back at the top of the round to get themselves a corner who can cover. They'll hope Humprey's physical style will help them set the tone. He's not a refined player but he's got all the tools and has shut down corner upside
