Players have gone all over. On Instagram... a group looks like they've gone to Melbourne, some to Sydney, some have stayed in Canberra for the weekend. I see one went to the snow.

Former State of Origin star Ben Ikin says Canberra Raiders' confidence a double-edged sword

Confidence is both the Canberra Raiders' weapon and their Achilles heel. It's also part of the reason why former Queensland Origin star Ben Ikin refuses to write them off - at some point that swagger is going to turn into wins.

"No one's prepared to write them off out of fear that you're the coach or commentator that does it knowing full well next week and for the rest of the season they could come out and make you look silly," he said. "The truth is they can be much better than what they've been and there's every chance they will be. That's why everyone's a bit nervy. At some point it's all going to click.

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart says they must learn to win tight or miss finals

Ricky Stuart has conceded his team must starting winning tight games or they'll be watching the finals from home.

"It's been a tough week after that narrow loss to Penrith, we probably shot ourselves in the foot in the last couple of moments in that match and that was very hard to take," Stuart said. "I believe they're learning, at the moment we're not learning with the right results but they are most definitely experiencing what it's like to be a good team, what it's like to have teams up for you every week.

"Raiders hooker Josh Hodgson said the side are trying too hard and must let things come naturally if they are to return to winning ways."

A number of those comments were good to read. They're really keeping up to date on their greenhouse reading.

Some good points Ricky but mainly just the same old Bull lines of blaming everyone else "other teams are up for us"

Here is a hint SuperCoach: how about you teach your forwards to run onto the ball for a hit up and ensure everyone in the team knows how to count to 6 ? There are other basic skills to learn but let's not over complicate things with to many of the basics just yet hey.

If you do that I would say that 75% of our close games this yr would of being comfortable wins for us :rant your contract extension should finally allow sufficient time now for you to teach the boys this

Hodgo says they're going through a patch where it's not quite clicking for them - I'd say a season where it hasnt quite clicked. Maybe everyone is trying too hard - they have the same playmakers and spine as last year, but something has changed.
That article focussed on the reaction of the team to the Penrith loss - I can tell you the fans were gutted as well. I reckon the team needs to remember they are not just playing for themselves, but for a huge fan base who feel the ups and downs as much as they do.

The balance between our halves is all out of whack. Get Sezer back in charge and taking the bulk of our kicks and we'll be starting to head in the right direction.

Sticky admitting he has a problem is like a drunk who crashes through someone's front window and says he needs to work on his driving. He's still not really taking responsibility.

VIDEO: Canberra Raiders Josh Hodgson happy to be back home

Josh Hodgson can't wait to return to Canberra Stadium in front of a packed Canberra crowd.

"It's always a great atmosphere when we are at GIO, we love being around Canberra and the hype that comes with it leading up to the game," Hodgson said. "It's great that we have a few home games coming up now so hopefully we can put some wins on the board and climb up the ladder."

I won't be surprised when Hunt comes on and has the game of his life. Or when McCullough scores from dummy half.

Realistically what changes can he make? DT seems like a must but otherwise our last k of depth is killing us.

Unusual for the Broncos to only have 3 players backing up from Origin.
Head to Head
Luke Turner - 1
Blake Ferguson - 0

Sticky must think DT is not match fit enough to run the 2 hitups and 3 tackles that Royce Hunt did last game.

Dave was buggered after 2 runs & 3 tackles last game actually.

Fair enough Stuart is worried about being 1 injury & 1 concussion ruling away from DT being one of 15 players left who all have to play & defend big minutes. It's frustrating but he needs to string a few games together to be considered for FG.

He played 75 but you could tell he was gone at different points of the match after short bursts of activity. Definitely lacking fitness and the broncos are a mobile team.

Here's the stats from the Penrith vs Mounties game if anyone's keen:

http://www.nswrl.com.au/content/dam/nsw ... unties.pdf

Dave Taylor 76mins, 27 tackles, 132 run metres, 7 missed tackles (a lot of tired efforts).
Clydsdale 61 tackles.

That may be the case but his role in the team of 17 is to come on and provide impact for 15-20 minutes.

Look at our last 6 games and Lui, Hunt and Priest (at least 1) consistently played under 25 minutes.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

So if 1 of the other forwards gets an injury or a HIA you just move hodgo to lock and hope for the best? Lui, Hunt and Priest may have only been playing short minutes but they were all fully fit.
