He has been in negotiations with WWE representatives for the past month. He has been on the radar of US wrestling talent scouts for the past year as part of WWE’s strategy to promote Australian talent.

Why would they randomly approach Vidot out of all the players in the NRL? Why would they approach any NRL player?

Blake Ferguson says it is safe to say he's turned his life around

A chance meeting with Canberra chief executive Don Furner this week provided a timely reminder for Sydney Roosters centre Blake Ferguson about how far he has come since almost blowing his NRL career two years ago.

"I just ran into Don Furner, he was going to a meeting at the NRL," Ferguson said. "I had a yarn to him, he is a good bloke. He helped me out a lot when down in Canberra. It was the first time I had seen him since I left Canberra.

"I just had a brief chat with him. I said hello and he just said congratulations on the bub and that. It was good. I think he has got no hard feelings there, which is a good thing. I have tried to get over the past, I guess that is how you grow as a person. He said he was pleased to see me doing well."

"I got on well with Blake, he was always honest with me," Furner said. "I just congratulated him and wished him all the best, more so for fatherhood than for footy. Hopefully he will provide a really stable upbringing for his child and makes some money out of footy so he can provide a good lifestyle."

Sandor Earl faces NRL anti-doping hearing to plead for return

Sandor Earl has pleaded to be allowed to revive his career next season during a five-hour hearing of the NRL's anti-doping tribunal.

Earl, who was stood down from playing on August 29, 2013 after admitting to the use of performance-enhancing drugs to treat a shoulder injury, is the first NRL player to appear before an anti-doping hearing over allegations arising from the 18-month investigation by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority.

The hearing was chaired by former High Court judge, Ian Callinan, QC and lasted for five hours, but no decision is expected until next week.

I'd love to coach again': Dave Furner on life at the North Queensland Cowboys

Two words sum up Dave Furner's mentality - looking forward.

Furner said he is happy to see the improvement the Raiders had in 2015, and stressed he wasn't bitter with how things finished up in Canberra: "You can't have that sort of association with a club and have those feelings."

"You just move on mate, to be honest," Furner said. "The club's been good to me – playing for the club and then getting the opportunity to coach the club.

Former Canberra Raiders winger Sandor Earl to get closure after two years of hell

Five years ago Sandor Earl scored one of the great NRL finals tries.

Playing for the Penrith Panthers, he seemingly defied gravity, contorting his body in mid-air to plant the ball down inside the corner post.

Now, Earl simply wants another chance to do what he loves.

translating what Donny said " I enjoyed my chats with fergo, he was always good for a laugh, hopefully he makes a lot of money out of the roosters pushing them over the cap and he is unlikely to get a job after footy"

Can you imagine the laughs they had back at HQ when donny returned!!

Donny "so I asked him is it going to be a boy or a girl, and fergo said he hoped it was blonde cause that's his favourite colour"

Really, Surprised he's not headed to the Dragons.
Or the Storm.
The Storm love washed up former Raiders players who played well for a few games in 2012.
We have a decision. We're going to the board.

You can see that Jarrod Croker initiates the contact.

Origin star opens Kawana gym

FORMER Canberra Raiders and State of Origin star Adam Mogg and wife Joey have opened Ezyfit, a new independent health and fitness club on Kawana Way in Birtinya.

"I would comfortably say it is the biggest gymnasium or health club on the Coast but we're also in the best area," Mr Mogg said.

"We've got the Stockland development on our doorstep. We've got the Southern Hemisphere's biggest hospital literally a minute down the road."

"I know a lot of really, really successful people and they're very fit and they still train because mentally it keeps them on track," he said.

The Temora Dragons have secured former Canberra Raiders under 20 player Jordyn Ballard.

Ballard returned to his hometown Cootamundra halfway through this season but is set to make the switch for 2016.

“We’ve been talking to him and at the moment it looks like he will be joining the Dragons,” secretary Greg Matthews said.

Warrington’s Joel Monaghan to stay in Super League after leaving Wolves

The outgoing Warrington captain Joel Monaghan has insisted no decision has been made on his location for 2016 but he will be staying in Super League. Monaghan will end a five-year association with the club after Thursday’s game at St Helens, with Wolves confirming last week he will be released from the final year of his contract.

The 33-year-old has scored 144 tries in as many games since joining from Canberra in 2011 and has been strongly linked with a move to Salford. Monaghan has yet to choose which Super League club he will opt for next season and has more than one offer on the table. “I’ve not chosen what’s going on next year yet,” he said. “I’ve got a few options and hopefully all will become clear in the next week but I’ll finish my career over here, that much I can say.

Former Canberra Raiders utility Matt McIlwrick set to play crucial role

He is not named in any grade but Roosters utility Matt McIlwrick is set to play in either a preliminary final or a grand final by week's end.

If Mitchell Pearce fails to recover from his hamstring injury it's likely McIlwrick will come into the Roosters team to play in front of a packed Lang Park.

If Pearce does play, McIlwrick will instead play in the NSW Cup grand final on Sunday for the Wyong Roos.

"It's pretty exciting times for me. I managed to play my first finals footy game last weekend and now with Wyong making the grand final either way it goes I won't be complaining that's for sure," McIlwrick said.

Justin Morgan named Warriors assistant coach

Former Raiders forward and assistant coach Justin Morgan has been appointed Warriors assistant coach.

Morgan will replace Tony Iro when taking up the role next year alongside the retained Andrew Webster, with the pair working under head coach Andrew McFadden.

He had two seasons each as an assistant coach at the Canberra Raiders and Melbourne Storm.
