Round 16 injury report

In some good news for Raiders fans Joel Edwards is making good progress after his toe surgery and remains optimistic he can return to the field this season. It would be a fantastic outcome for Edwards who has not played for the Raiders since the trials earlier this year.

Kyle O'Donnell (Shoulder, Rd18-19)
Joel Edwards (Toe, Indefinite)

While I'm hard pressed to find a spot for him in our current 17, I hope Redwards is able to play again this year. Seems like a good guy.

REdwards at his best I would have in the 17 ahead of Kennedy. I think he'd really round out our overall balance.

Agreed nickman. If Edwards gets back to fitness I definitely think he finishes off our 17 rather than Kennedy (that's assuming TPJ won't be used). With Soliola in the second row I don't think you need Kennedy's 'versatility'.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Redwards was finding some form in attack before his injury, had a few little flick ons which led to tries. Would definitely give him a shot in the 17.

Jordan Rapana will undergo scans on his ankle once he returns to Australia, as he left the field with a high ankle sprain.

Jordan Rapana (ankle) Indefinite
Mitch Cronin (neck) Indefinite, cleared of serious injury

I rate Redwards. Would like to get him back, gives our defence serious starch.
I'm starting to believe again. Don't let us down Stick.

Injury Update: Round 21

The Raiders have suffered a double blow leading into the race for the finals with experienced forward Sia Soliola and English international Josh Hodgson both suffering injuries in the loss to the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 21.

Soliola will unfortunately miss the rest of the season after fracturing his cheekbone early in the second half.

Hodgson’s injury isn’t as serious as Soliola’s but the classy hooker will still miss the next 1-2 weeks after injuring his ankle in the 43rd minute against the Cowboys.

Sia Soliola, Cheekbone, Season
Josh Hodgson, Ankle, Rd 23-24
Sisa Waqa, Knee, Rd 23
Joel Edwards, Foot, Rd 23
Tevita Pangai Junior, Knee, Rd 23
Luke Bateman, Suspended, Rd 23
Edrick Lee, Suspended, Rd 23

Injury forces Canberra Raiders player Sia Solioa to drive home from Townsville

Canberra Raiders forward Sia Soliola badly fractured his cheekbone in Saturday's 32-24 loss to North Queensland in Townsville and has been forced to drive home to Canberra. Soliola faces four to six weeks on the sidelines, meaning he would be racing the clock to play finals should the 10th-placed Raiders qualify.

That headline's misleading. Sia will be back at least in time for the Preliminary final against the Broncos.

I saw hodgo in the mall today. He was walking without any hinderance carrying some shopping bags. On a side note, I never noticed how tall he is. I'm 6"2 and he wasn't obviously shorter. He's a champion bloke too
