Aidan Sezer pays price for heavy tackle

Sezer suffered a shoulder injury in the 50th minute when 122kg prop Sam Kasiano thumped him moments after he had kicked the ball downfield. Sezer will likely miss the remaining three Titans games before he moves to the Canberra Raiders.

I couldn't be happier about it
I had nightmares of him blowing his knee out this week against us

You see, that's a game changer.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

major impacts on possession and field position stats, which is two areas we've been killed in this year

We go from probably the NRL's leader in conceeding 7 tackle sets, to the NRL's leader in forced drop out. TR nailed it, game changer.

My only concern with Sezer is how many games will he play for us? He seems to find an injury fairly regularly (esp this year)

More likely to get injured trying to carry more than you can handle (the whole titans squad)

The ends to our sets was a huge concern this year & Sezer's signing is just what the doctor ordered.

That's an amazing stat considering who he plays for and how many games he played.

Surely you have to ask questions of the coaching as well for a player to have regressed so heavily in this area? Is it a game plan thing? Is Sezer being stifled?

Not getting to the end of our sets, and when we do making minimum yeardage which in turn results in our last tackle plays been mostly from within our own half is the largest contributor to this imo.

As well as when we do have a set inside the oppositions half we have completely no structure and quite often the last tackle maybe played from over on the sideline completely out of position etc for Sezer to get a decent kick in

If our forward pack was dominating you'd see better games from both sezer and austin i think as well as the rest of the team

It's completion rates, how many times do I have to say it? We're only getting to the ends of our sets only slightly over half the time, which in itself leads to generally poorer field position and tired forwards, meaning the other team has fresher forwards, faster line speed and put more pressure on our kickers

It's all part of the vibe

Getting to the end of our sets is definitely a massive issue, not just for Sezer either.

But I also reckon he's changed his style. The 2015 Titans won seven games of the eighteen he played. I don't know the stats but I doubt their completion rates were significantly better than ours this year. Not to the extent where Sezer had four times as many forced drop-outs. There's more to his poor form than this.

Weve barely been in the 20 this year, we would be the lowest for tackles in the 20m zone

We either score from distance or drop it

You can't outpoint JT and rest of the comp in a key kicking stat while playing on a bad team if you don't have some game.

I think it's simply that he is not our primary playmaker. Hodgson is and it's to the detriment of Sezer. I remember when he was playing for the titans. When Elgey played, he was bog average, cause Elgey would take control. The following week when Elgey was injured he would get man of the match. The frustrating part is that we know what he is capable of. You'd have thought he and hodgo would have this nailed by now but they haven't. Hodgo is still running the team and Sezer has tried to turn himself into a running half which he isn't and it's lead to his regression
