2015 Fans' Choice Player of the Year

Image

The Fans' Choice Player of the Year has been awarded since 2004 with an impressive roll call of winners, including Ruben Wiki, Alan Tongue, Terry Campese, Shaun Fensom and Jarrod Croker. In 2014, Jarrod Croker took out the award for the second year in a row. An individual trophy, sponsored by The Greenhouse, is presented to the winning player at season's end.

We have built a great tradition with this award at The GH, and you can be part of it!

Who will be the winner in 2015? It is you who will decide!

In the Fans' Choice Player of the Year, you can register your votes here for the top performed Raiders player, on a 3-2-1 basis. The rules are you can only allocate 6 points or less each round, and can split them any way you like, but no "half" points are permitted and no player can be awarded more than 3 points.

So, you can give the best player 3 points, the second best 2 and the third best 1, in the traditional way. Or you can give two players 3 points each. Or you can give 3 players 2 points each etc. No half points are permitted.

At sometime after Tuesday each week, all the points awarded by everyone to each player each round will be aggregated and then the top three players will be awarded 3, 2, 1 points.

Only votes made by Raiders fans in this thread on The Greenhouse will count.

In this thread, feel free to speculate on who will be the player of the round prior to the match.

But 3-2-1 votes can only be made AFTER completion of the match in this thread.

3 - Wighton. So solid, get him re-signed before the Roosters make an offer, please...
2 - E.Lee. Showed how much upside he could have if he continues to improve
1 - Boyd. Mainly for his enthusiasm.

Williams and Austin were also great in the first half. Fensom and Toots both solid.

We have a decision. We're going to the board.

You can see that Jarrod Croker initiates the contact.

Stop giving Hodgson points just so he can win the award. This is a serious business.

I am surprised by all the hodgson love as well.

The mistackle on will smith was pathetic. TBH whenever hodgson defends a bit wider he really gets exposed.

3 - Edrick Lee - He is really starting to grow on me
2 - Boyd - Huge game, really lifted the intensity in the second half when we were trying to lose the game against a woeful reserve grade side.
1 - Sam Williams - One of his more classier efforts.

2. Wighton - Gee he's amazingly safe at the back (bar that one incident where he was thrown into touch). I reckon with anyone else back there tonight the Panthers score about twenty more points. Seriously.
2. Croker - Had another good game, his intercept sealed the deal when the Panthers were attacking our line. Penrith score there, we probably go on to lose.
1. Boyd - Was smashing everybody out there tonight. Gee I love him.
1. Kennedy - Plays a much better role when he plays big minutes, like the last two weeks. Is next to useless when he comes on for three minutes at the end of games. Very, very eerily similar to Joe Picker in this regard.

2 - Jack Wighton
2 - Edrick Lee
2 - Shannon Boyd - jeez his cover defence is good. There was also an excellent moment where Kennedy was shuffling from foot to foot waiting for the Penrith bloke to do something and Boyd just ran straight up and belted him. The Penrith player, not JK.

JK played well again, as did Crokes. Good stuff.

3 ~ Williams (little confidence going a long way i think, taking on the line more)
2 ~ Wighton (The second coming of GI............. why not)
1 ~ Boyd (strong as always, big efforts for a big man in cover, fantastic last name)

Honorable mention to Dave Shillington. Went out on a high, some of the best running I've seen from one of our forwards all year...... but those offloads :nooo
Long time creeper....... First time poster

With Jack pleading guilty and Austin injured it looks like Hodgson has wrapped up the award this year!
