You are as crappy at Maths as you are with everything else.
Gold = $1124.00 per ounce
35.274 ounces per kg.
Moa = 105 kgs
= 4.1mill.

Good grief.

Also, it's $1,124 per TROY ounce, and 32.15 Troy ounces equals 1 kg NOT 35.274

Good grief indeed.

We want to keep him around for another 12 months ( greatly reduced contract), but he's pretty much over being professional. Sick of all the seriousness of it. He's weighing up a few offers of overseas and capt/coach in the bush. Most likely will go overseas or take a good job/playing deal in country league.

No surprise Mounties have returned to form since he returned from injury. Has been playing very well lately.

Nicholls has a lot to do with that as well.
Matt McIlwrick would be a handy pick up for a bench spot with the reduced interchange.

It's been said before, but teams seem to win when Nicholls plays. The Raiders looked better when he was in FG this year and it might be no coincidence that Mounties' slump came when Nicholls was out (through FG and injury).
They started winning again when he returned from injury and he's probably been their best week in, week out over the past month or so

You're both wrong, and this is a stupid argument.

Surely the more appropriate way that we should be looking at this is by measuring the amount of human life that could be purchased for that amount?

The obvious measuring point is the last substantial period of slavery in western civilisation, the 1860s. 'Prime' slaves at that time (and these guys are fairly fit, so it seems a fair starting point) would sell for around $800. Converting that to 2015 dollars, the amount would be in the order of $34,000.

So what you're suggesting here is that Moa would be worth the equivalent of 161 similarly fit young men.

That seems poor economics to me. Surely we'd be better off buy a whole village of these guys and training them up?

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

You're the guys trying to value humans in troy ounces of gold.

I'm just pointing out that you're hideously distorting the market, which is dangerously inflationary.
