Congrats Croker. My dog had to be put down at the age of 15 the other day, his spirit was with me and we were both riding home that awesome sideline conversion. It was never in doubt. RIP little buddy

I can't remember there ever being a draw for top point scorer - so there is usually only a single player who wears the No.1 point scorer crown.

In 2015 he is the Canberra Captain Jarrod Croker. He will have some pressure from within the Club with Sezer joining the Raiders, but I can't see Sticky changing from a player who now kicks so well under pressure. That sideline conversion was a cracker. He has come a long way since the Farah sledge.

I never know if these posts are overcooked satire or the genuine rantings of the slightly unhinged.

Little from Column A, little from Column B is simo's case

Yeah, sure you'll have a better chance if you're the team's goalkicker, but you still have to ACTUALLY KICK THEM.

I mean, the flipping Origin kicker is only at 65% for his club, and Jarrod kicks at 84%. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, is actually the best conversion rate in the league. So it's not like Jarrod was just handed this one on a silver platter.

The top point scorers are always goal kickers and Croker is extremely lucky this award is given after 26 rounds and not after the competition is actually decided.

Yep. Much like anyone who wins the Dally Ms is extremely lucky they only gauge that on the 26 rounds of the regular season instead of including the extra games some teams play at the end of the year.

I guess by IronRaiden's logic Croker is also extremely lucky he also kicks goals, or he probably wouldn't win it either.

He probably wouldn't have it if he didn't score 12 tries either.

Are people still moaning about Croker and somehow suggesting he is lucky to be the top point scorer let alone the captain or even a starting centre?

Bunch of idiots.

It's a meaningless award given to a goal kicker who's team scored a lot of tries, nothing more.

Top point scorer is awarded every year.

He has beaten at least 15 other goal kickers.

And he has beaten every other player to win the award.

Only 1 player can win it and Toots is that player. Not anyone else

Yeah. Fancy being 24 and on your way to being a record point scorer for your club!

Pure luck. It's all because he can't defend or pass the ball, Yknow

 Do you honestly think a front rower who is not a goal kicker could possibly win this award?

I'll tell you how meaningless it is, it's a team effort award given to their goal kicker. Even Croker admits it's meaningless cause he'd give it up to be playing next week.
