I would find it strange that the Raiders would hold onto him for next season if they have Sam Williams on the books.

We would probably hold out until someone paid a chunk of his salary

Paying him out actually locks him into a top 25 spot. That's why we need to offload him elsewhere.

Like a few others here, I think he would be a great bench utility in the ESL and could cover three spine positions in case of injury to other players.

He is still creating a lot for Mounties but still having the odd brain explosion.

Tilse left and one of the other players took his spot in the top 25

The top 25 is the highest paid ROSTERED players
paying him out counts against our cap, but it would free up a space in the top 25
The List - K.Love, Keno, Zippy's tennis angels, LA Lakers, Noah, Boozer, Lucy's horse tips, Colts, Lucy, Kevin Proctor, Dr Zaius, TR....

And the cap for those 25 players would be lower by the amount paid to a player not playing for us.

With his durability, I reckon he could play a fair while still too.

Good luck wherever you end up, Josh.

Have Leeds still got a chance of signing McCrone?

Not sure, Rhino. I know someone close to McCrone who told me earlier this season that McCrone had asked for a release several times and been denied so I don't know what's going on.

As a few guys have said above, his salary will count to the cap unless someone takes over the same contract but his spot would be useful in the 25, so I would think the club would be happy for a club like Leeds to take him.

If he is allowed to leave and the other clubs are offering the same, I would think a starting ESL gig would be more desirable than a bench utility role at an NRL club.

Thats assuming he wants to move to england, with a young family he might not want to uproot them, he may be happy to grab a utility role at another club.
I've got legs, and i know how to use them

He stays we pay him and he takes up a top 25 spot , he goes we pay him but it frees a top 25 spot. If there is someone better or with more potential then pay him out. Honestly though he is a good 4th back up half /hooker but is that necessary?

So McCrone is only worth letting go of early if, for whatever money we have left of his salary, that isn't being paid out to him, we pick up someone better than McCrone take the role of 3rd/4th string hooker/half. It seems teams would be happier to wait for an extra year before picking up McCrone rather than paying a chunk of his salary in 2016
Would have won Boogs - 2016

We'll hang onto him until someone gives us a decent offer. The further the Mounties go in the finals the better.

This may help releasing mccrone
Cruel injury blow to new Manly signing.

Schoolboy sensation Tom Wright has been dealt a cruel blow ahead of his switch to rugby league, tearing the medial ligament in his knee while playing rugby.
