I can live with that, I'm sure he can keep fit and will be sith the team for the bulk of the actual football side of training.

Canberra Raiders Blake Austin to have surgery on shoulder injury, will be fit for Round 1 2016

Austin will undergo surgery on the injury tomorrow, so he's ready for the start of the 2016 season. Austin will not do any contact until after the Christmas break, but will be available for the Raiders before round one 2016.

He better not be playing with any kittens during that time. We all know how they can cause injuries.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Canberra Raiders expected to head into 2016 season injury free

Good news Raiders fans - The Green Machine will head into the start of the 2016 season with a fully fit roster with only Blake Austin and Sia Soliola on restricted contact training during the pre-season.

Shannon Boyd, Edrick Lee, Josh Papalii and Paul Vaughan all have minor injuries that forced them to pull out of the Prime Minister’s XIII however the quartet will all be fit for Round 1 of the 2016 season.

The club also has no suspensions to contend with as Leilua’s two match suspension issued in Round 25 will be served in Round 26 and in a pre-season trial.

NRL casualty ward: Your club’s pre-season injuries

RAIDERS

Returned to training: October 26

Casualty ward:

Blake Austin (shoulder)

Aidan Sezer (shoulder)

Mitch Barnett (surgery — thumb)

Five-eighth Blake Austin is recovering from shoulder surgery. He went under the knife in early September to repair a tear to the posterior labral in his right shoulder.

New signing Aidan Sezer’s season ended in round 23 when he picked up a shoulder injury in a crusher tackle against the Bulldogs. He and halves partner Austin are said be recovering well and are taking part in fitness and light skills training. They are expected to return to full contact training after Christmas.

Forward Mitch Barnett needed surgery on his thumb and will commence training in the coming weeks.

What with all this Hodgson talk did he get injured playing for England. I'm sure I read somewhere that he was given a few weeks off after the tests before he would join the squad for training.

No injury , he just completed his season therefore this is his time off.
